Well, as you’ll already know you’ve got the best resource literally at your fingertips right now. The Internet.

But, it can be a bit of mindfield if you don’t know what you’re doing, so I’ve collated a few bits and pieces that I use here which might give you some tips and tricks.

The Internet.

Well, yeah – But there are different Internets.

One of the things you can do is use a VPN to change your location, and then look on he internet. You get to see a whole load of stuff you wouldn’t normally because of your location. This can help you track down some bits and pieces outside of where you’d normally get shown.

Also, sites like YouTube will sometimes not show you content based on your location so you can fool it and see. Netflix, Amazon Prime and all the streaming sites will show you different content based on your “location” as well…

Search Engines.

Never be afraid of going outside of Google and the other major search engines, there are plenty more to choose from.

Shopping Sites.

You might already be familiar with sites like eBay and Amazon as a collecting resource, but did you know you don’t have to shop on these sites in the same country? Nope, I’ve found many a foreign version of a film that isn’t available elsewhere. Boomtown for example, Season 2 was only ever released on DVD in France so, I was able to buy a copy on Amazon France when I couldn’t find it anywhere else. You need to be careful though if you go down this road. Some DVD’s aren’t multi-language. Boomtown is fine, that has an English soundtrack but I bought Becoming Colette from Germany and that just has a German soundtrack.
